German Football Association (DFB) selects Beyond Sports Technology for use with German National Teams

Alkmaar, February 9th, 2018 - 2014 World Cup Winner DFB has announced that it will partner with sports technology company Beyond Sports to deliver cognitive training and analysis using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) applications. The DFB will focus on enhancing both the decision-making skills and spatial awareness of national team players, using Beyond Sports’ VR Match Analysis & Training products.
The technology Beyond Sports offers is based on real match data and enables a clubs, federations and broadcasters to analyze and create scenarios using a tactical or narrative based approach. Implementation of the technology into the DFB training curriculum will commence this month with the 1st team and will be implemented with all teams once the new DFB training center is completed in Frankfurt.

The integration of the Virtual Reality technology is the next logical step in the development program created by the DFB. To stay up to date with the newest technologies, the DFB has decided to implement new solutions that benefit their system. The program will have its’ aim on training and analyzing players in simulated environments. Instead of using normal analytical tools, Beyond Sports offers training and analysis from a first-person perspective, thus enabling users to obtain new insights on cognition through the eyes of players, coaches and even opponents.
